The company's computer network, which is used to perform work tasks (sharing files, connecting to printers and other network equipment, and so on), is a corporate LAN. It provides reliable communication between all computers in the organization, which can be located in the same building, or located at a considerable distance from each other, if the company operates remotely.
When creating a corporate network, you must have a clear understanding of the "geography" of all PCs and the requirements for the speed of data exchange in the network. Previously, a significant part of all corporate networks was built on the LAN (Local Area Network) principle. LAN network standards make it possible to guarantee the safety of the transmitted data, since the transmission is carried out over local channels.
But LAN technology has a significant disadvantage: according to this standard, you cannot build a network with the participation of remote computers. To solve the problem, you will have to connect the system to a cable or Wi-Fi Internet connection, which reduces the level of security during data transmission.
